Welcome to our journey in understanding and harnessing the incredible power of the vagus nerve and its role in your child's ability to sleep. The vagus nerve, sometimes dubbed the superhighway of relaxation, is a key to restful nights.
Why is this nerve a game-changer for sleep? It sends sensory information to the brain, giving indicators of whether we are safe or should be on high alert. If the brain interprets the information as us being safe, it activates the parasympathetic nervous system, our rest-and-digest, connect-and-heal system. The end result: activating the vagus nerve will signal that we are safe so the body can regulate, and can put energy towards activities like healing.
Activating the vagus nerve offers countless benefits, but none as precious as the ability to sleep. In our upcoming posts, we'll explore a variety of techniques to stimulate the vagus nerve based on the T-Zone System, and help your child find the right ones so they can regulate themselves before bedtime and during the day.
It’s exciting to have a better understanding of the vagus nerve, the parasympathetic nervous system, and how to use or tweak the information to help your child. For now, continue to use the T-Zone System you received yesterday to awaken your child’s vagus nerve.
To keep this simple, for tracking, hit reply, fill in the parts of the questionnaire that are important to you, then send it to me. The same questionnaire below will be asked on day 7 and again on day 14 to track the changes. A comparison chart will be sent to you when you complete Day 14.
Answer whichever questions are important for you since this questionnaire is meant to be helpful to you.
